Chino Hills Library Moving To A Bigger Building
CHINO HILLS -- Residents and officials are excited about the move of the James S. Thalman Library, one of the county's top-circulating libraries, into a larger building that will accommodate more books and possibly more programs. Residents Urged to Maintain High Alert, Use Precautions Against Mosquito Bites. The West Valley area of San Bernardino continues to have one of the highest incidences of West Nile virus activity in the entire state with the inclusion of WNV infected dead birds and mosquitoes. Chino Hills Won't Build 'Splash Pad' In Butterfield Ranch
CHINO HILLS - The city decided this week not to build a children's water play area in the Butterfield Ranch neighborhood, after a cost of $458,850 was presented for the project. A "splash pad" recreational area, usually includes several metal or plastic structures that dump, splash or spray water on children as they play. Chino Resident & Tv News Anchor George Putnam Dead At 94
Putnan had a ranch in Chino & died at a local hospital. LOS ANGELES - George Putnam, the flamboyant broadcasting pioneer whose bombastic style and arch-conservative political views made him one of the highest paid TV news anchors in the nation and also one of its most widely lampooned, died Friday of heart failure. He was 94. Putnam, one of the inspirations for "The Mary Tyler Moore Show's" Ted Baxter character, died at a hospital near his ranch in Chino, said Chuck Wilder, longtime producer of his syndicated radio program, "George Putnam's Talk Back."

Chino Hills Quarterback, Verdugo Leaves Chaffey Dizzy
ONTARIO - Chino Hills quarterback Ryan Verdugo's debut was so good, even his handoffs were game-changing. Twice the junior fooled Chaffey defenders peering into the backfield with counter handoffs that fueled a near-perfect first half in Chino Hills' 32-14 win over Chaffey in both teams' season opener Thursday night.
