The City of Chino Hills 17th Annual Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Picnic will be held on July 4th at Big League Dreams Chino Hills Sports Park, 16333 Fairfield Ranch Road. Decorate your wagons, trikes, or wheelbarrows and line up at 9:30 a.m. at the front gate of Big League Dreams for the 2008 Family Wagon Parade which will kick-off the Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Picnic at 10:00 a.m. The 10:30 a.m. ceremony will feature a flag salute and Independence Day comments from area elected officials. The event continues until 3:00 p.m.

Bring your own picnic blanket and chairs to create a "home base" as your family and friends enjoy the many free activities including food-eating contests, picnic games, face painting, pie baking contest, and arts and craft projects. Fun inflatables, BMX stunt shows, bungee trampoline, rock climbing wall, water slides, lounge, and an arcade area featuring the hit game Rock Band will also be featured. The Mo Anderson band will play a variety of music on the Main Stage.

The event includes a craft fair featuring homemade items. Chino Hills crafters may rent a booth at the craft fair for $30. The fee is $35 for non-resident crafters. The water tender truck from the Chino Valley Independent Fire District will cool off the crowd gathered at nearby Fairfield Ranch Park for the traditional "water cannon blow out" at approximately 11:30 and 2:00 p.m. (as long as the water tender truck is available).
