Assemblyman Hagman's bill will take back the rights of gun owners in California

Sacramento'Assemblyman Curt Hagman has introduced AB 613 to repeal of AB 962 by Assemblyman De Leon, which has been found to be unconstitutionally vague by a Fresno County Superior Court in Parker vs. California early this year.

AB 962 requires individuals purchasing ammunition be fingerprinted and registered at the time of sale, mandates that dealers keep these records and make them available for inspection by the California Department of Justice.

Ammunition retailers would also have to store ammunition in such a manner that it would be inaccessible to purchasers and mail order ammunition sales would be prohibited.

"The laundry list of new requirements in Assembly Bill 962 treats law abiding citizens like criminals. The only people this bill will affect are law abiding gun owners," stated Assemblyman Hagman, "My bill will ensure that California's gun owners are not punished by this excessive regulation from Sacramento."

Thank you Assemblyman Hagman for standing up for the rights of citizens. After this gets passed can you please start working on a "shall issue" concealed carry law that prevents local Sheriff's from making a safe working environment for criminals? Far too many Sheriff's in this state refuse to issue concealed carry permits to individuals because they don't feel that self-defense is "just cause". Even if the citizens do provide a good reason most of these Sheriff's still deny the permits "just 'cause".
