Ayala High School put any questions to rest...

as to whether or not it will compete for a Sierra League championship Friday night by routing defending Mission Valley League champion South El Monte, 42-21.

The Bulldogs (4-1) held the visiting Eagles, who had averaged more than 240 yards per game on the ground, to just 30 yards rushing.

"We committed five players to the run," Ayala coach Tom Inglima said. "Our plan was to flush everything to the sides because up the middle is where they've been getting all of their yards this year." ...
