We've all been reading about Southern California Edison (SCE) needing to build and activate new power transmission towers through our city. It's a big deal and I encourage everyone in Chino Hills to take the time to see if and how this may affect you. It's quite difficult to really understand exactly where these towers are to be built and how they will look, but the information is out there and I assure you it is worth understanding.
SCE has the information on the web here:

The City of Chino Hills Press Release
Public Scoping meetings were held on Thursday, September 20th in the Chino Hills City Council Chambers at 2001 Grand Avenue. The first meeting was held from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. and the second meeting was held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. There will be more.
Maps of the original location and alternate locations proposed by the Chino Hills City Council are shown on the Chino Hills city proposal.
Also, in a grass-roots effort, residents around Chino Hills have organized and activated their own web site at:
www.SayNoToPowerLines.org
It's a great site and has comprehensive information for residents.
All considered, I think that the Chino Hills Alternative Route is the best plan. Although I'm not a fan of routing these huge wires through the state park and closer to my own home in Butterfield, I sympathize with the families who would have these wires towering within 500 feet of their homes in the existing plan. That just doesn't seem right.
No matter what, I encourage all citizens of Chino Hills to take the time to understand this thing. It's a big deal.
More information is on the city web site here...
