When Liz Novak entered California State University Long Beach, she envisioned herself as an interior designer. Instead, after graduation, the 25-year-old finds herself sporting a hard hat and shouting orders to construction workers. Oaktree Capital Management LLC in New York is building the $275 million, 660-acre Vellano development in Chino Hills. Oaktree hired Irvine-based gkkworks as the construction management firm. Novak was thrust into the job two months after she graduated in August 2006. The Vellano Country Club is set to be completed by January. (Source: TheBizPress.com)
