High temperatures are predicted for the rest of the week and much of the summer. To help residents "Beat the Heat," the City of Chino has opened several facilities as "cooling centers" to accommodate those seeking relief.

The following City facilities are places to cool down during the hot days of summer:

The Neighborhood Activity Center (NAC) is equipped with a TV room and areas to play games. Located at 5201 D Street, the center is open from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday through Saturday. If the temperature reaches 100 degrees on a Sunday, the NAC will open and remain open until 8:00 pm. To verify the NAC is open on a Sunday, call (909) 590-5575.

Monte Vista Park at 13196 Monte Vista Avenue offers computers and a game area for parents and children weekdays from noon until 8:00 pm. If temperatures reach 100 degrees, this center will be open on Saturday and Sunday until 8:00 pm. To verify Monte Vista Park is open on the weekend, call (909) 627-2674. Don't forget about the Splash Pad at Monte Vista Park, which is open daily from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

The Chino Senior Center, located at 13170 Central Avenue, offers activities to seniors as well as a place to cool off Monday through Saturday 8:00 am - 8:00 pm and from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on Sundays.

The new Preserve Community Center offers open gym activities and is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm and on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Save on your electricity bill and utilize one of these centers today!
