Investigators looking into allegations of misconduct...

Evan Samuel, placed on administrative leave from the Police Department on July 1 after investigators began looking into allegations of misconduct by him as a Los Angeles police officer, is no longer with the Chino department.

Assistant City Manager Patrick Griffin said Samuel, who joined the Chino department three months ago, has not been a city employee since July 14. Griffin would not say whether Samuel was fired or if he quit, adding that the city would not comment further on a personnel issue.

Samuel was among three officers involved in a recent cocaine-possession trial that ended with the case's dismissal and the exoneration of defendant Guillermo Alarcon Jr. last month in Los Angeles.
