Students breath a sigh of relief, but more to come.

CHINO - Students who thought they were going to have to attend a high school across town breathed a sigh of relief after the outcome of Thursday night's school board meeting.

The Chino Valley Unified school board meeting took place in the multipurpose room at Don Lugo High School - the same school some of the students hoped they would not have to attend.

The closure of three elementary schools at the end of last school year as a cost-saving measure resulted in hundreds of students having to attend other district elementary schools, subsequently disrupting traditional feeder patterns to the middle and high schools.

The moves would have forced about 70 students who live near Chino High School, north of the 60 Freeway, being sent to Don Lugo High School, about five miles to the southwest.
