CHINO - The days of having to play home games at a rival's stadium are quickly drawing to a close for Don Lugo High School athletes.

The Chino Valley Unified School District board recently approved $6.75 million in Measure M funding to construct a football and track stadium.

Don Lugo, which was built in 1972, is the only high school in the district without a stadium. The school's athletes have had to play their home games at Chino High School.

The new stadium - planned for the north end of the campus - will strengthen Don Lugo's identity, Assistant Principal Colleen Alton said.
