In the Chino Hills Marketplace Shopping Center, we have a new treasure called the mi Medical Rejuvenation Center, also know as "mi Med Spa" for short. Mi Med Spa is the brainchild of Dr. Albert Kim, a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with a family practice in Ontario. Doctor Kim is board certified in anti-aging medicine and a Fellow of the American Academy of Anti-Aging. He is also Board Certified in Family Medicine and runs a family practice in Ontario.
Dr. Kim attended the Western University of Health Sciences in California, where he was trained in standard medicine and hands-on osteopathic methods for diagnosis and treatment. After earning his degree in Osteopathic Medicine and training at the Naval Medical Center San Diego, Dr. Kim served as a Medical Officer in the US Navy. He then completed his residency in Family Medicine as Associate Chief Resident at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (formerly San Bernardino County Hospital).
Following a brief stint working for a large medical group, Dr. Kim started his own Family Medicine practice. He then became interested in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine and undertook training to become board certified in this rapidly growing specialty. Dr. Kim's current practice brings together his various areas of expertise to provide comprehensive medical care that improves physical, mental and spiritual health.
Mi Med Spa opened its doors in the Chino Hills Marketplace Shopping Center on Sept 11th 2009. The focus is on holistic aspects of anti aging, skin care, and preventative health care.
We spoke with Sonny Jun, mi Med Spa's Director, who is also a Licensed Medical Aesthetician. Sonny studied International Business and is an experienced marketer, however, she discovered her passion after becoming a National Trainer for several exclusive skin care and cosmetics lines including Le Mieux Cosmetics and Dr. Schrammek Kosmetik both of which are offered at the spa. Sonny met Dr. Kim through her mother who was one of his patients. When she heard that he was considering opening a new spa in Chino Hills, she inquired and discovered that Dr. Kim's plans literally matched a business plan that she had been considering for some time. She immediately decided to get involved.
Through word of mouth, over 100 people attended their grand opening party on September 11th 2009. They are continuing the tradition of sponsoring events by hosting a Cyn in the City Night this coming Thursday evening. The spa is planning a series of events, educational classes and lectures. They are planning an event called Vino y Vinyasa which stands for Wine and Yoga - They will have a wine tasting along with yoga. The next one is planned for February 26th and they are planning to do two each month. Sonny told us that they are planning a series of lectures to teach people about hormones and a class on the basics of skin care.
