The fourth-seeded Diablos can't recover from Nicole Haley's leadoff home run in getting eliminated early for the second straight year from the Southern Section Division II playoffs. Leadoff batter Nicole Haley, a senior at Chino Hills Ayala, had not hit a home run since her sophomore season, but her laser over the left-field fence cut through a vicious cross-wind and sparked the Bulldogs to a 5-3 victory over fourth-seeded Mission Viejo on Tuesday in the second round of the Southern Section-Toyota Division II softball playoffs.
