CHINO HILLS: Hardeep Sambi used a pair of scissors to ceremonially cut the ribbon August 4 officially opening his Masala Bowl Indian cafe franchise in the Chino Hills Plaza in Chino Hills, Southern California.Immediately after the ribbon cutting, Sambi was presented with a Certificate of Recognition from California Assemblyman Bob Huff, a Certificate of Welcome from Chino Hills Mayor pro tem Peter Rogers, a plaque from the local Chamber of Commerce from Judy Conacher and a plaque from Marzi Mody, Executive Vice President of Masala Bowl, on behalf of the corporate team.A recent graduate with a degree in business from the University of California at Riverside, Sambi had dined at the Masala Bowl in Irvine soon after it had opened.
"I had the Chicken Tikka Masala, absolutely loved it, and I just couldn't get enough," he told the gathering. "I started talking to the owner there, found out it was a franchise, and began thinking maybe my family and I can start something of our own, and here we are," he added. As a franchise, the Masala Bowl is an Indian quick-serve cafe that serves a wide variety of authentic, flavorful Indian dishes at a great value without compromising taste.
