Edison is not releasing information about the visit until after Obama leaves...

In his first visit to the Southern California since his election, President Obama will find time for Pomona.

Obama on Thursday will tour the Edison International Vehicle Electrics Plant in the city...

The visit to the plant may be tied to the advances that the company has made with its electric vehicles.

Southern California Edison's Electric Vehicle Technical Center in 2007 reportedly tested "advanced battery technologies that could further enhance the emergence of future energy storage applications in the utility industry," according to Edison's Web site.

Edison is not releasing information about the visit until after Obama leaves.

Air Force One will land at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Long Beach Airport. Obama will host a town hall meeting at 4 p.m. in Costa Mesa.

Obama will tour the Edison electric vehicle plant at an undisclosed time Thursday and later that night will appear on the "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," which is filmed in Burbank.
