CHINO - A time to stroll down memory lane for some, for others an opportunity to renew friendships, and for everyone a chance to see a well-deserved face lift of a community icon - Don Antonio Lugo High School. A Re-dedication Ceremony kicks off the festivities at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2008, on the campus located at 13400 Pipeline Avenue, Chino.
Community members, staff, students, and alumni are invited to reconnect with the school. And, taxpayers of the Chino Valley that have no connection with Don Lugo High School are encouraged to attend and see how their tax dollars, provided through Measure M, have been spent. Refurbishment and modernization efforts abound throughout the campus.
The 2:00 p.m. ceremony will be held on the south side of the campus and will be followed by a Reunion Barbeque beginning at 3:00 p.m., and tours of the campus will be conducted from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. The days events will finish with a dance in the Gym from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m., with nostalgic sounds of the 70's, 80's and 90's.
Through the three decades of Don Lugo High School's existence, the community and the school itself have undergone changes. But, the strong sense of family and loyalty have remained strong as evidenced by numerous Don Lugo alumni that have gravitated back to the school as teachers and classified employees.
