Student Artists Will Display Their Work at Chino Valley Unified School District's Annual Art Showcase

Students from 25 of the District's schools will display their artwork at Magnolia Junior High School, 13150 Mountain Avenue, Chino, on Tuesday, April 1st and Wednesday, April 2nd, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Art Showcase will conclude on Wednesday evening, with a Reception for the artists, their families and guests from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

The district-wide event will feature works of young artists, ranging from Kindergarten through 12th grade. A variety of formats and mediums will be shown in paintings, drawings, ceramics, sculptures, and multimedia works.

The annual Art Showcase provides an opportunity to display and share the creative works of students. The following schools will be represented: Butterfield Ranch, Cattle, Country Springs, Levi Dickey, Dickson, Eagle Canyon, El Rancho, Gird, Glenmeade, Hidden Trails, Liberty, Newman, Oak Ridge, Rhodes, Rolling Ridge, Walnut, and Wickman elementary schools; Canyon Hills, Ramona, and Townsend junior high schools; and, Ayala, Buena Vista, Chino, Chino Hills, and Don Lugo high schools.

Chino Valley Unified School District serves 33,341 students in Chino, Chino Hills and Ontario. There are 37 schools in the District including 22 elementary (K-6), 2 fundamental (K-6 & K-8), 5 junior highs and 4 high schools and 4 alternative schools. Five elementary schools operate on a year-round basis. The District employs about 2,765 persons, making it one of the largest employers in San Bernardino County. The District's annual budget is approximately $270 million. The District's Mission Statement is: Increase Student Achievement, Provide Safe Schools and Promote Positive School Climate.
