Do you have questions? Share them with us. We'll share them with the candidates.

What do you want to know about the candidates?

The next ten years will be important for the City of Chino Hills. We are entering a stage of maturity. I read a verse in the Living Bible recently that stated, "A growing population is a kings glory; a dwindling nation is his doom (Proverbs 14: 28).

Because we are reaching a point of build out, Chino Hills now faces a time where city fees and state subsidies can be reduced and where fiscal vision and responsibility will be more important than ever.

In addition to that I have concerns about the social direction of our state and the leaders within it; specifically their ethics and societal values. We know that many state leaders come up the ranks from local city councils, so the values of these leaders should be important to you.

I've been contacted by a few of the candidates for City Council and although I like them and want to support them, I'd like to hear what you care about first.

So far, we know that incumbent, Gwenn Norton-Perry, will run again. I'm going to vote for her. She listens, she has the guts to stick up for our city, and she's come through for us over the years.

Then we have two candidates to fill Curt Hagman's vacancy, long-time Planning Commissioner, Art Bennett, and Parks and Recreation Commissioner, Roman Nava. Both have been quite active in Chino Hills and the neighboring communities. I still have to decide. Thankfully, we have a good pool of caring citizens to choose from. Here are their web sites (that I could find anyway)...

Gwenn Norton-Perry

Art Bennett

Roman Nava

Please let us know your thoughts and questions. I'll post them here.
