Over 100 people gathered to celebrate the opening of the Women's Care Center in Chino

Friday, October 26th, was the Grand Opening Celebration of the Women's Care Center in Chino. The center was opened on time and is now ready to give free assistance and advice to women who become pregnant. The opening ceremony was attended by over 100 people who gathered in the Christ The Cornerstone Community Church Sanctuary which is located next door to the Center. Pastor Jack Hibbs of Calvary Chapel Chino Hills and Norma Murakami's husband, Tim both spoke at the event. A ribbon cutting ceremony was also held and the ribbon cutting was performed by Michelle M., who is a past client of the center.

Services provided by the center will include:

* Free Pregnancy Tests

* Crisis Pregnancy Support

* Client Advocacy

* Housing Referrals

* Referrals for Woman/Infant Children (WIC) Program

* Maternity Clothes

* Adoption Referrals

* Abstinence Education

* Post Abortion Support

* Parenting Training and Mentoring

* Volunteer Opportunities

* Volunteer Training

* Guest Speaking

The center is the fulfillment of a dream for Chino Hills resident and Director of the Center, Norma Murakami, who has been providing guidance to pregnant women for many years. Money for the venture, including furniture, fixtures and labor have been donated by hundreds of volunteers and donors. An open house was also held on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 to 5:00 PM.
