Southern California gas prices have now dropped by about 10 percent in the past seven weeks after experiencing another sizable reduction over the past seven days, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California's Weekend Gas Watch.
The average price of self-serve regular gasoline in the Los Angeles-Long Beach area is $4.179 per gallon, which is 10 cents less than last week, 40 cents lower than last month, and $1.21 above last year.

The index that tracks Inland Southern California's manufacturing sector declined last month to its lowest point since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks slowed commerce to a crawl.
