July, 2008 - A Message from Chino Hills City Council member, Ed Graham
(As published in the Butterfield Stageline...)
For the past 17 years many of you have read about the trials and tribulations of the Graham family through this article. I've written about jobs, kids, parenting, sports, school, illness , opening new chapters of life, and the painful closing of old chapters. We have grown up together. Here's what happened after last month's issue hit the streets. One reader thought I pat myself on the back too

(As published in the Butterfield Stageline...)
A landmark day for me occurred when I looked up at the "Shop Chino Hills First!" sign and thought to myself how dramatically improved that message became with the grand opening of the first 36 stores of The Shoppes. Another 30 will gradually come on line along with the major restaurants: PF Changs, CPK, and Yardhouse all opening around the weekend of June 14th. Parking will improve gra

I have shared several Graham family chapters in the past and thought it's time for an update on our 22 year old son serving his 2nd tour in Iraq. Brett decided that his job in Iraq was too boring and got transferred into one much more dangerous. So, instead of hanging out with the division command staff, he is now a squad leader of a "Quick Response Force", who responds when another Am

March, 2008 - A Message from Chino Hills City Councilmember, Ed Graham
(As published in the Butterfield Stageline)
I am excited because, for the first time in Chino Hills' history, your votes in June will ensure that Chino Hills will have a resident elected to the California Assembly. Mayor Curt Hagman is actively running for the seat currently held by Assemblyman Bob Huff. Bob is a friend of Chino Hills and he is now running for the seat of State Senator Bob Margett (so he will still represent us). Mayor Curt wi

OPINION: Citizens should make their needs known
I really care about Chino Hills and the people that live here. A few years ago, a group of residents wanted to get decent Internet service in town. There was none. So along with the City Council, we rallied around a good idea, rattled the cages of the big companies who saw us as nothing more than a dot on the map, and we made things happen as a group. We are people who care about our community and who are willing to do something about thing >>

February, 2008 - Message from Chino Hills Mayor, Curt Hagman
Chino Hills has much to look forward to in the year 2008. Many projects that have been part of the community's vision for many years will be completed during 2008 and 2009. One of the City Council's long-held priorities has been to work for the long-term financial security of the community. The Council has maintained fiscal constraint since our incorporation in 1991; and, has sought to maximize the commercial potential of vacant property due to t

My goal for this monthly column has always been twofold: a) to connect you into our community through volunteerism/knowledge b) government should not be complicated. These short news briefs and my personal meanderings are meant for a quick read without the details. I love chatting with you at our local stores about a past article and answering questions about our city. Please don't be afraid to stop

Information on SCEs Tehachapi Renewables Transmission Project (TRTP)
We've all been reading about Southern California Edison (SCE) needing to build and activate new power transmission towers through our city. It's a big deal and I encourage everyone in Chino Hills to take the time to see if and how this may affect you. It's quite difficult to really understand exactly where these towers are to be built and how they will look, but the information is out there and I assure you it is worth understanding.
