Chino Hills mayor says resources are better spent locally
Local city officials are voicing opposition to the possibility of state leaders borrowing local revenue to help solve a deadlocked budget.
The League of California Cities and local governments are worried such revenue raids are a possibility given historic precedent. Legislators have also discussed the use of local government revenue to help balance this year's budget, according to a city report and H.D. Palmer, spokesman for the California D >>

Bill passes CA legislature; Only Gov. Schwarzenegger can stop it
The Civic Center Act requires a school district to grant the use of school property, when an alternative location is not available, to nonprofit organizations, clubs or associations organized to promote youth and school activities. But the law also states that the property may not be used by anyone intent on overthrowing the government.

Owners want to develop; activists want to preserve 'one of the last free spaces' in O.C.
To some, it's a place for wildlife to flourish. To others, it's a spot to build estate-style homes with a great view.
To all, it's called Canyon Crest. And while the two sides have been butting heads since 1986, controversy about the undeveloped site is likely to become more intense September 16 at the next Brea City Council study session, where the council will discuss what to do with what activists are calling "one of the last few unpro >>

August, 2008 - A Message from Chino Hills City Council member, Ed Graham
The Graham family's exodus to Montana was a great 13 out of 14 day event. We saw a bald eagle up close, a big grizzly, a moose (no squirrel), several rams and many other creatures. But our family vacation hit a wall that I thought could never happen. We actually had a family argument. One of my sisters went "off" on an insignificant issue and the episode really left a bitter taste for the rest of us. But on retrospect, that's what m >>

Because of a state drought and a reduction in water supplies, the city has enacted the strongest water-conservation measures in its history.
For the first time, city measures designed to encourage residents to save water are set to go into effect Aug. 8.
Among the restrictions: The use of hoses to wash sidewalks, walkways, driveways, parking areas, patios, porches or verandas will not be allowed. Water will not be allowed to leak on residential property, nor will it be allowed to leak from landscaped areas to nearby streets, sidewalks or other paved areas.

I have shared several Graham family chapters in the past and thought it's time for an update on our 22 year old son serving his 2nd tour in Iraq. Brett decided that his job in Iraq was too boring and got transferred into one much more dangerous. So, instead of hanging out with the division command staff, he is now a squad leader of a "Quick Response Force", who responds when another Am >>

Bill would expand the use of "digital billboards" on existing sites. What do you think?
Senator Gloria Negrete Mcleod has recently authored Senate Bill 1310 that would break down regulatory barriers to help billboard owners convert their signs to the digital variety.
Opponents wrote to the S F Gate Newspaper to fight the proposal.
Officials from municipalities throughout San Bernardino County are preparing to take sides over a proposed tax-reduction ordinance that could potentially cut into the money they collect from homeowners.
The Chino Hills City Council voted Tuesday night to take a neutral position on the ordinance until more information was available on which cities would be supporting or opposing it, said the city's finance director, Judy Lancaster.

I am excited because, for the first time in Chino Hills' history, your votes in June will ensure that Chino Hills will have a resident elected to the California Assembly.
