The Callaway Junior World Championship
Sahith Theegala, a 10-year-old from Chino Hills, had just won his third Callaway Junior World Championship, and his father, Muralidhar, tried to explain his son's remarkable success. Almost impossible.
"I guess he's just a natural," the father finally said. "He watched golf on television when he was about 3, and he just naturally picked up the pros' swing."
Rick Hunter, Sahith's teaching pro at the El Prado range, also s >>

Phillies supplemental draft pick didn't allow open-heart surgery to derail his baseball dream.
Two days after his athletic career took a major step from the amateur ranks to professional prestige, Zach Collier ran three miles. He ran, and he ran pain free. This might not come as shocking news to anyone. Zach Collier is the tender age of 17, and as the 34th overall pick in Major League Baseball's First-Year Player draft Thursday, one would expect the outfielder from Southern California to run like the wind.
However, Collier, draft >>

NFL calls Roski stadium proposal "interesting possibility"
It looks like billionaire developer Ed Roski Jr. has made a significant gain on his proposal to build a football stadium on the east side of the city.
National Football League officials, who initially had little reaction to Roski's proposal, now call the plan "an interesting possibility" after a sit-down meeting earlier this week with officials from Roski's Majestic Realty Co.
"At their request, the Roski group prov >>

The fourth-seeded Diablos can't recover from Nicole Haley's leadoff home run in getting eliminated early for the second straight year from the Southern Section Division II playoffs. Leadoff batter Nicole Haley, a senior at Chino Hills Ayala, had not hit a home run since her sophomore season, but her laser over the left-field fence cut through a vicious cross-wind and sparked the Bulldogs to a 5-3 victory over fourth-seeded Mission Viejo on Tue >>

Ayala High School Football Takes Nike SPARQ Team Challenge Training
As we met the football team from Ayala High School at the picturesque, Chino Hills Community Park across from their school, we knew that the Nike SPARQ Team Challenge's West truck was in for a good day. All 88 kids on hand were all really polite, respectful and happy to have SPARQ at their school to test their metal. Second year Head Coach, Tom Inglima has th >>

Thank Vellano for creating the course and another picture perfect setting
The Vellano country club recently finished a beautiful waterfall pond to greet it's residents. I've been going to a friends house who lives in the private golf course community once a week and everytime I drive by I think about getting a shot of the picturesque falls. So finally on a late Friday afternoon, I took my camera and tripod and set up to take a few shots. But I can never just take one picture, so I framed a variety of different angle >>

Great place and great kids.
I have a goal of visiting and getting some pictures of all our great city parks. In addition to being right behind the Chino Hills State Park and having a ton of open space, Chino Hills has almost 40 dedicated city parks and recreational facilities. Some of them are specialized like the McCoy Equestrian Center and Big League Dreams.
Recently I visited the Chino Hills Skate Park located in Fairfield Ranch right off the 71 Freeway. There we >>

Only 45 minutes from Chino Hills, The Perris Auto Speedway offers intense racing action.
What is it?
The Perris Auto Speedway
Only 35 miles from Chino Hills is the Perris Auto Speedway. On the night we went, we saw what was called the World of Outlaws race. This is an exciting type of race to watch. The oval dirt track is only one mile in circumference and the main event of the evening consisted of 26 cars running 30 laps each so there was no lack of action.
The best part of this kind of racing is that you can be very c >>
